Have you ever imagined when you are on a tight deadline and everything's on a rush and suddenly your computer in just a blink of an eye rebooted unexpectedly? That would be horrible isn't it? Then, common instinct says that we should try turning the computer off and on again and hoping and praying that the Windows logo will pop-up and everything will still reboot normally. But often times, this does not happen and that is going to be a bad day for anyone who experienced the same.

The question now is this, what are the causes of unexpected reboots? In fact there are a lot of reasons why they happen. Let us start with the software and the operating system as they are the ones that mostly caused a lot of random reboots to our computers. A bad software can in fact corrupt the memory area where our operating system resides and that's when you get unexpected reboots. This is one of the ways an operating system would protect itself by immediately terminating everything so that no further mishaps would happen. What are this bad software by the way? Typically they are viruses and spyware and also pirated software. So the best way to solve this is to simply avoid these evil programs using antivirus software and avoiding pirated software at all cost.

Another common reason why sometimes our Windows just simply reboots randomly, is due to low system resources. These resources could be your computer's memory, hard disk or even CPU power. So it would be great if you can consult someone with a technical knowledge on the best hardware configuration you can have for most of your applications.

Also, the other thing that can cause unexpected reboots is a low power supply. This may be due to a bad electrical supply in your area or a malfunctioning PC power supply. Your computer is so intelligent that it can detect a slight variation of the system's power. Once the power reaches below a certain point, the computer will shut itself down to prevent further damage to the system. It is advisable to seek a professional technician to check your PC's power supply. Also get a good UPS or voltage regulator for your PC to supply it with a smooth power all of the time.
